EMERGENCY PLUS IN PAKISTAN---11 The radical decision of proclamation of emergency Pervaiz Musharaf is claimed to be result of growing terrorism by militants and high handedness of Judiciary. What ever be the background, Musharaf has to face the criticism both from domestic and international sectors. The most important issue for Musharaf is to restore functioning of the superior courts and get their full support for his actions. He must also ensure functioning of the private media channels through new media regulatory mechanism under PCO. He will have to use maximum Armed Forces to minimize the incidents of violence and terrorism through out the country. The powers gained through PCO must be fully exercised to control the continuous increase in the prices of the necessities of human survival .Musharaf will have to restore his popularity at grass root level. Musharaf will have to be careful from his stupid friends in the kitchen cabinet. After the proclamation of Emergency, the geo-political scenario in Pakistan has completely changed. In the next two months, some major decisions would be taken by Musharaf. Elections would definitely be postponed and Musharaf will continue in uniform with the blessings of all the three “A”s .Some elements from Nawaz League and PPP will join Q League being the ruling party. Emergency and PCO would gradually lead towards Martial Law and General Ashfaq Kayani is the most likely Martial Law Administrator. Musharaf would continue as President. Benazir Bhutto would continue her silent partnership with Musharaf’s regime. USA and UK would continue their support to Musharaf; although some financial aid would be decreased .Musharaf would be very effective in his war against terrorism with the US support. The journey towards restoration of civilian led democracy has halted for an indefinite period. God bless Pakistan.
